Wings

Wings

Here we are anchored in Illutuk Bay where we visited the Calauit Animal Reserve. Have to be careful in this bay, there are rock pinacles which come up 30ft from the bottom, not good when its only 35 ft deep.

Vollyball Victors

We started a vollyball game on the beach at Maricaban, between "Euro" sailors and those from the US, but the teams got mixed up, and even the staff at Maricaban joined in. A great game, several in fact, ensued.

Can you guess who were the winners?

Swapping Sea Stories by the Pool

We ran across several sailors from the Clipper Challenge at Maricaban, (also met some crewing in the Bortacay Race) having a holiday while their boats are being repaired in Subic Bay. Here we swap sea stories by the pool.

Pool at Maricaban

This great pool at the El Rio Y Mar resort at Maricaban, on Busuanga Island, is a wonderfull place to relax and cool off. We heard that the snorkeling around here was good too, but we didn't try it. Wings is moored in the background, it is too deep to anchor here.

Fred on Deck

On a nice sailing day I'm enjoying the sun and the wind while the windvane steers.

Judy has been saying it for a while now, and it's true, I look like my father. This photo could be of him.

We towed this banca with a broken engine into the fish camp at Taptuitan Strait. Next day when we came by they had fixed it and travelled on.
