Accept the Challenge-SYC Grand Prix. 1997

These folks have accepted the challenge. They will again. Here's to the next fine year. (BTW: this glass, and three more like it, have sailed around the world with Wings, sitting serenely on the counter-top behind our Starbucks coffee cups, since we received them for competing in the SYC Grand Prix in 1997. How's that for stability?)

Boats Circling

We've had a rivalry all year with Olas Lindas and one or the other of us have been in the lead at every event. Not this time.

The top dogs

Here Olas Lindas and Nuevo Luna match against each other in the BBR. They were the top dogs in the event, with pro sailors and the best sails and equipment, but they came in 3rd and 4th. If you think we were disappointed not to do better, just imagine how they felt.

J105 Sinfonia Nautica

The J105 shocked everyone with their speed. Not quite a liveaboard but still no one expected them to be so fast. They sailed well and easily won the regatta.

Dorr Anderson's Bright Star

Sailing a fantastic race, Dorr Anderson's Bright Star crew got second place.

Trying to go to weather

Wings trying to make the finish line upwind under spinnaker when the jib could not be hoisted. It was only one tenth of a mile but it took us three minutes.
